A Shawano High School graduate, Bill won major letters in football, basketball and track. He was also a member of the high school band. He graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1938. Bill participated in football, basketball and track, won ten major letters, and was all-conference tackle his junior and senior years. As a senior he received the American Legion School Award for scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability. After graduation, he taught and coached in Wisconsin High Schools for seven years before joining Bankers Life Company. At present he is agency manager at Madison. Bill has been an active member of his church, his community, and his university alumni association. Elected to the Hall of Fame, 1975.
