Tracy Moate distinguished herself on the volleyball and basketballl courts for UW-Whitewater.  She played basketball three years, earning first team all-conference and all-region honors, and Third Team Division III All-American recognition from the American Women’s Sports Federation.  Moate helped the team win conference championships in 1980 and 1981, and advance to the final four of the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Division III championship in 1982.   Moate is sixth in career rebounds, 17th in scoring, and 18th in assists in the UW-W basketball record book.  On the volleyball court, Moate earned all-conference honors in 1981 and 1982, leading the ‘81 team to the WWIAC title.  She also earned a letter in softball, as the 1980 team won a conference championship and advanced to the AIAW III national tournament. After graduation Moate coached volleyball at Whitewater High School, including six years as the girls’ head coach. A graduate of Hononegah High School in Rockton, Illinois, Moate graduated from UW-Whitewater with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1983.  She earned a master’s in special education from UW-W in 1989.  Moate is a special education teacher/work experience coordinator at Lakeland School in Elkhorn, and a Whitewater resident.
