Athletics Hall of Fame
Bill Barwick, a 1977 graduate, was a four-time letterwinner in football and won one letter in track. He played on two Wisconsin State University Conference co-champion teams in 1974 and 1975, and was a co-captain of the 1975 squad. Barwick was a two-time First Team all-conference performer, after being named to the Honorable Mention list as a sophomore at his offensive guard position. In addition, in both his junior and senior years, he earned First Team all-district and First Team National Association of Intercollegiate Athletic All-American honors. After his career with the Warhawks, Barwick received signing offers with both the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League and the Arizona Wranglers of the United States Football League. He also played semi-professional football for the Janesville Cavaliers. In addition to the football field, Barwick excelled in the powerlifting arena where he earned six state championships and held as many as 18 different individual records.
