Bob graduated from Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee in 1962, where he won 9 letters in football, basketball and baseball. He was selected All-Conference in baseball three years and football once. A graduate of UW-Whitewater in 1968, he lettered four years in football and three in baseball. As a quarterback in football he was twice selected All-Conference and District 14 NAIA All-Area. In 1966, Bob was selected co-captain and Co-MVP as well as MVP for the semi-final game of the NAIA play-off. Also in 1966 he was selected 2nd Team AP Little All-American and 1st Team UPI Little All-American. He was the holder of 15 UW-Whitewater career records and presently still holds 6 of them. As a catcher in baseball, Bob played on a championship team in 1965 that went to the NAIA World Series in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was selected on the all-tournament team and was also given honorable mention All-American honors. In 1967-73 he played semi-pro football with the Delavan Red Devils and Lake County Rifles. Bob was selected all-league quarterback three times during that period of time. Bob taught at Woodstock High School in Illinois from 1968-73 and served as assistant football and head baseball coach. During that time he coached two championship teams and had six athletes named to the All-State team. In 1980 he was selected as an assistant coach for the High School All-Star Shrine Game. Bob was elected District Representative and Southern Vice President of the Wisconsin High School Football Coaches Association from 1976-1980. He is also a past member of the Evansville Jaycees where he served as a State Director for two years. Bob earned his Master's degree in 1977 from UW-Whitewater and is presently employed in the Coaching Department at UW-Whitewater while serving as offensive coordinator for the Warhawk Football Team and as an assistant track coach. Bob was also be inducted into the NAIA District 14 Hall of Fame in Stevens Point on November 21, 1982. He is married to Janice Ames and the father of three children, Dan, age 12, Steve, age 10, and Becky, age 1 1/2.
