In 1937, Al Farina graduated from Beloit High School, winning letters in football, tennis, basketball and track. At Whitewater Al lettered four years in football and basketball. He captained the football teams three seasons leading them to conference championships in 1940 and 1941. Al was nominated for Little All-American honors in 1941. Since graduation he coached the Randolph Air Force Ramblers, Dansville, Whitewater high and presently Brooklyn College. Here he coached baseball, football, and served as Assistant Athletic Director. He received his Doctorate in 1950 having written many articles and the well known book, “Growth Through Play.” Elected to Hall of Fame 1971.
