This Madison, Wis. Native attended East H.S., 1944-1947, starring in football, basketball, and track and winning numerous individual honors. At Whitewater State, 1948-1952, athletically talented Dick won an incredible total of eleven letters in football, basketball, and track, winning championships in each sport. While serving in the Armed Forces, 1952-1953, he played and coached football and competed in the Track and Field Olympics of the Armed Forces in Brussels, Belgium. He was selected Headquarters Area Command Athlete of the Year in Europe in 1953. Dick was an educator and head football coach at West Allis Nathan Hale H.S. from 1954 to 1967 and is now Assistant Director of Placement Services at Whitewater State University. Elected Hall of Fame in 1969.
