A graduate of West Bend High School, Roger won letters in baseball, basketball and football. At University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Roger was all-conference quarterback for three years and was football co-captain in 1960. That season he also was most valuable player, third team Little All-American, Scholastic All-American, American Legion outstanding male senior graduate and outstanding senior athlete. Roger was graduated in 1961 with a degree in business administration. After a tryout with the Green Bay Packers, he was affiliated with Ernst and Ernst, Milwaukee, a public accounting firm; the Leach Company, Oshkosh; Management Science, Inc., Appleton; Employers Insurance, Wausau, and, since 1975, as controller of Aid Association for Lutherans, Appleton. Roger is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of several professional accounting societies. Married, father of three, he is active in his church and community activities. Elected to the Hall of Fame, 1976.
