Chuck is a graduate of Racine Park High School where he participated in track, basketball and football.  As a senior he received All-City football honors, both offense and defense.  At UW-W, Chuck was a four year letterman in football.  During his junior year he played both offense and defense, was selected to the All-Conference team, and helped to lead his team to the conference championship.  He graduated from UW-W in 1961 and taught in Racine for one year.  In 1962 he returned to Whitewater to teach and coach football and golf.  His golf teams won conference championships in 1967-1968.  In 1969, Chuck took a position with the City of Whitewater as Recreation Director on a part-time basis but due to his innovative expansion of programs in the Recreation Department, it was necessary to hire a full-time Recreation Director, so in 1976 he received his Masters Degree from UW-W.  Chuck is married and the father of two sons.  He has been active in Legion Baseball, Rotary and Kiwanis.  He has served as president of the Jaycees, the First English Lutheran Church and the Quarterback Club.  He received the Outstanding Jaycees Award in 1967 and the Community Distinguished Service Award in 1971.  Chuck has been an officer of the 'W' Club Alumni Association for the past 17 years.
