Camilla Owen was the UW-W Tennis Sportswoman of the Year in 1979 and 1980, when she helped the team finished fourth and then third, respectively, in the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Since graduating in 1980 in a psychology degree and while obtaining her master’s in special education, she has continued her involvement in tennis, coaching the girls' and boys' teams at Janesville (WI) Craig High School, her alma mater.  Since she began coaching the boys in 1984 the Cougars have won five conference championships, and wound up second in the WIAA state meet in 1989 and 1993.  Owen added the girls' team in 1986, and that squad earned league titles in 1989, 1991 and 1995.  She was the Wisconsin High School Tennis Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1983 and 1996, and the Big Eight Conference Tennis Coach of the Year in 1990.  She is also active in coaching and tournament administration outside of her school activities. The Janesville Middle School Teacher of the Year in 1997, Owen is the at-risk educator at Franklin Middle School and Janesville resident.
