Jerry Schmidt graduated from Randolph High School in 1962 where he earned eleven letters; four in football, four in baseball and three in basketball.  Jerry was All-Dual County Conference linebacker in his junior year and both linebacker and offensive fullback in his senior year.  He was also captain of the football team in his senior year.  In basketball, he was second team All-Conference in his senior year.  At UW-Whitewater, Jerry earned four letters in football.  In his junior year, this linebacker was named first team All-Conference and All-NAIA District 14 while setting a school record for tackling points.  Even though he did not play an offensive down during the season, he was named second team All-State as a guard because there was no defensive team.  He was also named to the defensive first-team All-American Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity squad.  As a senior, he was team co-captain, was again named first team All-Conference and All-NAIA District 14 as a linebacker and first team All-State as an offensive center while breaking his school record for tackling points.  He was again named to the Sigma Tau Gamma All-American team and received honorable mention to the NAIA All-American team and was elected Co-MVP by his teammates.  Jerry went on to play football for the Richmond, Virginia Rebels of the Continental League and for the Delavan Red Devils and Racine Raiders of the Central States League.  Since graduating form UW-Whitewater in 1967 with a degree in Business Administration, Jerry has been employed by Wisconsin Bell, Inc. in their marketing department and currently as a system design consultant for a subsidiary, Wisconsin Bell Communications, Inc.  Jerry has been active with Big Brother of Racine and has helped with youth baseball.  Jerry currently resides in Racine with his wife, Sandra and their daughter, Sara.
