Marilyn (Stark) Benson, a 1969 graduate, was an eight-time letterwinner in three different sports at UW-Whitewater.  She was a three-time letterwinner on three straight undefeated softball teams from 1966-68 and was the team's Most Valuable Player and co-captain for two season.  In addition, she earned three letters in basketball and two in tennis.  As a senior at UW-Whitewater, Benson received a scholarship from the Wisconsin Association of Women Accountants and was a selection in the Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.  Benson, who is currently owner/principal of Benson Accounting and Tax Preparation in Madison, has been very active in both athletics and community service since graduation from UW-Whitewater.  She has competed regularly in the team sports of tennis, volleyball and softball while also participating in both basketball and golf leagues.  From 1982 to 1993, Benson has worked as an American Red Cross Bloodmobile Volunteer, while remaining active in many church and community groups.
