To this day, Steve Travis holds the school record for the outdoor 800 meter with a time of 1:50.68 set it 1992. Travis is a three time All-American. In 1991 Travis, along with fellow members of the team, were named sixth place All-American for the indoor 1600m relay. In 1991 Travis was named fifth place All-American for the indoor 800m. In 1992 Travis was named first place All-American for the outdoor 800m. Also in 1992 Travis was WIAC champion in the outdoor 800m. Travis was named team MVP, indoors or outdoors, four times from 1989 to ’92. Travis has been head coach at Wisconsin Lutheran College for track and field, and cross country for both the men and women teams since 1993.
