Don Shebesta, a 1965 graduate, was a key member of the first UW-W baseball team to earn a berth in the national championship tournament.  A pitcher and first baseman, Shebesta was a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics honorable mention all-American and NAIA all-tournament selection on the Warhawk team that won the 1965 Wisconsin State University Conference championship and a trip to the NAIA World Series.  Shebesta also started for the UW-W basketball team his junior and senior years.  Shebesta played baseball and basketball at Janesville (WI) High School, and he played semi-pro baseball and basketball in the state for several years.  He is currently employed by Glendale-River Hills Schools.
