Gary Garcia was a two-time All-American for the UW-Whitewater men's cross country team from 2002-05. He qualified three times for the NCAA Championship, placing ninth in 2004 and 33rd in 2005. Garcia also finished 150th in 2003, when the Warhawks qualified as a team and finished 17th. He is one of five WIAC individual champions in program history, finishing first at the conference meet in 2004, and was a two-time first team All-WIAC honoree. Garcia also competed for the men's track and field team from 2005-07, earning a pair of second team All-WIAC accolades in 2007 and posting three marks that rank among the top 10 personal records in program history. The Kenosha native and Tremper High School graduate earned his bachelor's in physical education (health, human performance and recreation) in 2008.
