Avitus Ripp earned all-Wisconsin State University Conference and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics all-District honors as a defensive tackle for the Warhawks in 1963.  He earned three letters in football and was a starter on the team that won the 1962 WSUC championship.  Since his graduation in 1964, Ripp has taught and coached on the high school level.  Ripp was the conference football coach of the year for St. John's High School in Little Chute (WI) in 1967.  He directed Richland Center (WI) High School to an undefeated season in 1986.  He has been the athletic director and head football coach for fifteen years at Richland Center.  While a student at Middleton (WI) High School, Ripp earned all-state honors in football and all-conference honors in basketball.
