Denny graduated from Milwaukee Washington High School in 1962 where he won 8 letters in football, basketball and baseball.  He also achieved All-Conference honors in all three sports and he played on two championship teams.  He was selected as the Scholar-Athlete in 1961 for the greater Milwaukee area.  A graduate of UW-Whitewater in January 1967, Denny lettered two years in baseball and football.  He was voted All-Conference in baseball for two years in a row as a shortstop.  In football, Denny was All-Conference as a defensive back and also as a split end.  He was voted Most Valuable Player in 1966.  Denny was on both a football and a baseball championship team that made it into post-season play.  In 1967, he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns.  Denny has coached both football and basketball at Pewaukee and now Shorewood for the past 14 years.  He led his 1981 football team to a conference championship and into the state play-offs.  Denny has been a math teacher the last 12 years at Shorewood High School.  Denny and Peggy live in Cedarburg and have three children, Suzanne, 11, Michael, 7, and Mark, 5.
