Alison Miller Tanking was a four-year member of the UW-Whitewater volleyball team from 2002-05. A 2005 Honorable Mention All-America honoree, Tanking helped lead UW-Whitewater secure Division III titles in 2002 and 2005. Part of four NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, Tanking was a member of three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship teams – 2002, 2004 and 2005. Tanking earned all-conference and all-region honors in 2005 after hitting .347 on the season – a top ten mark in program history. She holds a top 25 mark in the league record book after registering an attack percentage of .750 in a match in 2004 – that mark is tied for sixth in the program record book. In the UW-Whitewater career record book, Tanking is ranked eighth in attack percentage (.317), eleventh in total blocks (373) and twenty-fourth in kills (865). A native of West Bend, Wisconsin and graduate of West Bend West High School, Tanking earned a bachelor's degree in elementary and middle School education in 2007.
