This Milwaukee native attended North Division H.S., earning two football letters and winning all-city honors as a guard in 1937. Upon graduation, he received the University of Wisconsin “W” Key. At Whitewater, Clem played football for four years, earned All-Conference honors in 1941, and never missed a practice. After graduation, he taught at the University of Wisconsin, served 38 months in the Navy, and served as Assistant to the District Director of Milwaukee Area Technical College. Active in numerous civic and business organizations, and equally active as a Whitewater alumnus, Clem received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1970. Elected Hall of Fame 1970.
