Former wrestler Stephen Kopecky was named NCAA Division III All-American twice in his career at Whitewater. Kopecky was All-American in 1986 and 1987 in the 190 pound weight class. Additionally, Kopecky was WIAC runner-up in 1986 and WIAC first in 1987. Kopecky’s name can be found six times in the wrestling record book. He is tied for fourth in most wins with 39 in the 1986-87 season. He is tied for fifth in most takedowns with 110 in the same season. Kopecky is tied for eighth for most team points (155.25) and most consecutive pins (5) for the 1986-87 season as well. With 97 career wins spanning from 1983-87, Kopecky is eleventh in the book. For his wrestling career, Kopecky is seventh in most pins with 39. During Kopecky’s successful 1986-87 season he was the wrestling team captain and also was captian for the 1985-86 season. Kopecky was voted Most Improved in 1986. Kopecky works as the business manager for the Hartland Arrowhead School District.
