Jake Wolter was a standout in two sports, competing for the Warhawk football team from 1997-2000 and the men's basketball team in 1998-99 and from 2000-02. In football, he was named All-America by three organizations as a defensive back in 2000, when he served as a captain and was named the team's Most Valuable Player, and honorable mention All-America as a kick returner in 1999. A three-time all-conference selection, Wolter was a part of back-to-back WIAC championships in 1997 and 1998 and helped the team reach the NCAA Playoffs in 1997. He finished his career as the program's all time leader in career interceptions (20), which ranks him tied for eighth in conference history and still stands as the program's record. In basketball, Wolter was a two-time all-league honoree for back-to-back WIAC championship teams in 2001 and 2002. He finished his career ranked third all time in career steals (167) and steals average (2.14) and eighth in career 3-pointers made (121) and attempted (356). The Wauwatosa native graduated with a bachelor's in physical education and a minor in coaching.
