Fred Trewyn played football and basketball for three years at UW-Whitewater, limiting his involvement in the fourth year to non-conference games because of a league rule prohibiting four years of eligibility.  During his senior year he also coached the 1929 College High football and basketball teams.  Trewyn was a member of the starting five for the 1927 basketball team which was coached by Chick Agnew, nicknamed "Chick's Royal Flush."  Trewyn returned to Whitewater to teach and coach at College High in 1945.  He took over coaching the UW-Whitewater football and basketball teams, dormant because of World War II, for the 1945-46 school year.  Fred was a member of the School Board of the Whitewater Unified School District and a charter member of the Whitewater Quarterback Club.
