Gaylon and Hannah Greenhill are being awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the UW-Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame.  The award is granted to persons who have significantly contributed to the success of the athletic program at UW-W, and 1999 marks the twelfth year the Award has been presented. The Greenhills have actively supported the Warhawk athletic teams by the their  attendance at events, at banquets and at fund-raisers.  Gaylon, in his role as chair of the of the WIAC Council of Chancellors made contributions to the establishment of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and chaired the most recent search and screen committee for the conference commissioner’s position. Hannah Greenhill retired after teaching for thirty-one years in the Whitewater school district, and Gaylon announced his retirement as chancellor of the University effective July 1.  The Greenhills are residents of Whitewater.
