Hugh Gnatzig, a 1974 graduate, was a four-time letter winner in basketball.  He started at guard for the school’s Wisconsin State University Conference championship teams of 1973 and 1974, earning honorable mention all-conference honors both years.  Gnatzig, the team captain in 1972, when he graduated, held the school record for assists in a season and in a career.  Gnatzig is a teacher and coach at Whitewater High School.  He is currently the boys’ basketball coach and the girls’ volleyball coach.
