Athletics Hall of Fame
Wade Fletcher, a 1978 graduate, earned four letters as a UW-Whitewater wrestler from 1974-78. He was the Wisconsin State University Conference Champion at 190 pounds in 1977 and 1978 and a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American at 190 pounds in 1978. In addition, he was a co-captain of the squad as a senior, earning the team Sportsmanship award and a selection on the All-District 14 First Team. Fletcher, who raced stock cars for the past six years, received the UW-Whitewater Outstanding Recent Alumni Award in 1988, serving as a strong financial supporter to the wrestling program as well as UW-Whitewater Foundations. Fletcher is also a big participant for state rugby teams, playing 14 years for teams in Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac and Oshkosh and earning state honors several times.
