Currently the principal at Walker junior high school in Milwaukee, Gasper Farina was a basketball and football star at Whitewater from 1934 to 1938.  He was a member of the football squad for four years, and was named to the State University all-conference team in 1935, 1936 and 1937.  During these years he also served as captain of the grid squad.  During the 1937 season Whitewater captured the conference championship.  In basketball, Farina was a member of the squad during each of his college years.  During the final three years he was captain of the team.  Following his graduation from Whitewater he was basketball coach at Brandon high school.  From 1939 to 1949 he was assistant basketball and football coach at Custer high school in Milwaukee, and advanced to head football coach in 1951.  At the end of the 1951 football season he moved into the central office of the Milwaukee school system and in 1956 became a junior high school administrator.  Farina was ordered as a Perpetual Deacon of the Episcopal diocese of Milwaukee in 1956, and was assistant clergyman at St. Matthias, Waukesha, until 1963.  Since that time he has been associated with St. Edmund's in Elm Grove, in addition to his school work.
