Carl graduated from Madison East High School in 1954, earning letters in basketball, baseball and tennis.  He was twice All-Conference and All-City in basketball and All-City in baseball.  As a senior, he was elected Captain and Most Valuable Player in both basketball and baseball.  Carl was conference and city singles tennis champion as a sophomore.  At the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Carl competed in basketball and baseball, earning three letters in both sports, and All-Conference honors in baseball and honorable mention All-Conference in basketball.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1961, Carl taught and coached at the high school level for eighteen years.  He is presently an Educational Representative for MBTI Business Training Institute in Milwaukee.  Carl has a deep commitment to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, serving as a high school huddle advisor, adult chapter leader, Milwaukee area state representative and summer clinician.  He has served tennis for many years as Wisconsin State Adult and Senior Open Tournament director, as a teaching professional and as State Junior League director.  As a participant in adult tennis tournaments, he has held various #1 state rankings and continues to play actively.  Carl and Donna reside in Elm Grove, Wisconsin and have two children, David and Nancy.
