Mike Miller piled up yards on the ground for the Warhawk football team in the early 80’s, capping a record-setting career with all-American honors in 1984. Miller earned First Team All-WSUC honors in 1982, 1983 and 1984.  He led UW-W in scoring all three years, totaling 31 touchdowns in his career, including 16 on the ground as a senior.  He never averaged less than 4.3 yards per carry in a season, and increased that mark to 4.7, and 1,076 yards,  in 1984 when he was the focal point of opposing defenses.  Miller led the Warhawks in rushing yards and touchdowns three times apiece. The ’84 totals for yards rushing, attempts, rushing touchdowns and points were all school records.  That senior season Miller was twelfth in the nation (NCAA IIII) in rushing yards per game, and tied for fifth in points per game.  His 1984 marks (1,076, 16 TD’s, 4.7) culminated in UW-W Most Valuable Players  and WSUC Player of the Year honors, as well as third team all-American recognition. At the time of his graduation Miller also held UW-W records for career rushing yards (2,693), career attempts, and career rushing touchdowns.  Miller is still among the top ten in six categories in the UW-W record books.  He helped the Warhawks attain a winning record (7-3, 7-4, 6-5, 8-3) each of his four seasons, capped by the WSUC title in 1984. Miller graduated from Madison (WI) Memorial High School, where he earned two letters each in football, basketball and baseball, in 1981.  Still a Madison resident, Miller owns North American Rotisserie restaurant in Madison.  He graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1986 with a degree in business administration.
