“Rudy” attended Shawano H.S. and earned 11 letters in football, basketball, baseball and track before enrolling at Whitewater in 1929. Concentrating on football and track, he was All-Conference end for two years, captained the 1931 football team and placed second in State Track Meet as a javelin thrower. Played and coached semi-pro football and baseball. Former “W” Club president. He coached football, basketball, track and baseball at Augusta High, where his 1935 cage team was Conference and State Consolation Champs. Joined South Milwaukee faculty that year, head basketball coach in 1939- Milwaukee Suburban Champs in 1947. Head football coach in 1951-53, Athletic Director since 1951. In South Milwaukee, Rudy is very active in civic and athletic programs. Known as “Mr. Little League,” he was Lions Club president in 1951-52, and received South Milwaukee YMCA “Service to Youth” award in 1961. Elected Hall of Fame 1967.
