Athletics Hall of Fame
Ruth Christian earned a total of eleven letters in five sports at UW-Whitewater. She was a four year starter for the basketball team, earning most improved player and team captain honors during her career. She also was a starting infielder three years in softball, and was a letter winner in tennis, field hockey and volleyball before graduating in 1971. A graduate of Maine West High School in Des Plaines, Illinois, Christian has also been active for a number of years as a coach. She has coached basketball, softball, track and volleyball on the high school level. Ruth is currently at Menasha (WI) High School where she teaches physical education and is the softball coach.
