Athletics Hall of Fame
Allen graduated from Shawano High School in 1931 where he lettered four years in basketball and track and three years in football. After attending Michigan State University he enrolled at UW-W and lettered two years in each of football, basketball, and track. He was an All-Conference basketball center and he won the conference 120 yard high hurdles and high jump. He received the American Legion Award for outstanding athletic and scholastic achievement. Allen graduated from UW-W in 1936. After coaching football and basketball for two years each at Princeton High School in Princeton, IL and at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, IL, Allen entered the business world. He worked for Montgomery Ward, Spiegel Inc., Robert Morton Co., Kierulff Electronics, and was Vice President of Fredericks of Hollywood prior to his retirement.
