Donna Lind let her teams, both basketball and softball, into national tournaments. As the first woman to earn first team All-American honors at UW-Whitewater, Lind capped her basketball career with a stellar 1981-82 season. She established school records for points scored and assists, while leading Whitewater to a 25-8 record, the Wisconsin Women’s Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title, the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women Division III regional title and third place in the AIAW III final four. She was named first team all-conference, first team all-region and first team All-American, while also being named to regional and national all-tournament teams. On the diamond, she helped UW-W finish seventh in the 1980 and 1982 AIAW III national tournaments and her pitching was a key to the 1980 WWIAC title. Lind was a first team All-WWIAC pick in 1980 and a second team choice in 1982. A graduate of Rib Lake (WI) High School, Lind was a three-time team MVP and three-time all-conference pick while leading Rib Lake to consecutive league basketball championships in 1976, 1977 and 1978. Donna is the daughter of Florence and Andrew Mann and wife of David A. Lind. A resident of Phillips, Wisconsin, Lind taught in the Phillips School District for a number of years and is now a warehouse manager for Klitz Cutting Tools, Incorporated. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1997.
