Milton graduated from City High School in Whitewater in 1922 where he had lettered in football and basketball.  At Whitewater State Teachers College he earned eleven letters, three in football, three in basketball, three in baseball and two in track.  In 1922 he played on the "Teachers State Champion" football team and was quarterback and captain of the football team in 1924.  In his senior year he se the conference record in throwing the javelin.  Milton was secretary/treasurer of his senior class and was a charter member and the first president of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity.  Upon graduation he was awarded the American Legion Medal for "The Highest Scholastic and Athletic Attainment".  He taught and coached at College High, Whitewater State Teachers College and at high schools in Palmyra, Wisconsin and Freeport, IllinoisMilton served his country for four and one-half years in the United States Air Force with a rank of Staff Sergeant.  He was awarded two battle stars in the Italian Campaign.  In 1969 he retired from Oscar Mayer and Company after 31 years of service where he had risen to the position of division supervisor in the Davenport, Iowa plant.  He and his wife, Eileen, have three children, Milton, Robert and Mary Ann.  Eileen currently resides in Davenport, Iowa.
