In 1984 and '85, she was named to the College Sports Information Directors/GTE Academic All-American team and was NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region at second base and 1984.  During the ’84 season Boos led UW-W to a 23-10 mark; and in ’85 she helped UW-W to a 24-10 record.  During her first year at UW-Whitewater, Boos also played on the Women's basketball team and lettered. The Warhawks traveled to nationals that year, where they placed third. Prior to coming to Whitewater, Boos was the first female to earn twelve varsity letters at Fort Atkinson High School. A native and current resident of Fort Atkinson, Boos has worked part-time for the past ten years as a Special Sections Editor for the Daily Jefferson County Union. Since 1989, she has been coaching the freshmen girls' softball team at Fort Atkinson High School, which has had six undefeated seasons under her leadership.
