Jack Deichl, a 1983 graduate, earned all-conference honors in both basketball and football for UW-W.  A four-year letterwinner in basketball, Deichl was a first team all-Wisconsin State University Conference pick in 1981, UW-W’s Defensive Player of the Year in 1982, and a team co-captain and WSUC honorable mention selection in 1983.  Diechl’s scoring average was in double figures three of his four years, and he led the Warhawks in rebounding as a sophomore and junior.  He was a key component of a team that compiled 20-7, 17-9, 18-8 and 25-6 records over his four years, with the team advancing to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Final Four his senior year.  Deichl is among the top twenty in the school record books in eight categories, including fourth in games played (110), seventh in rebounds (741), and twelfth in rebounds per game (6.7). Also a four-year letterwinner in football, Diechl split time between punting and tight end.  He was UW-W’s punter in for three seasons, including the Warhawks’ 1980 league championship team, then returned after he 1982-83 basketball season to earn honorable mention all-WSUC honors as a tight end.  He stands third in four punting categories in the school record book, including career punts, career punting yards, season punts (71 in 1979) and season punting yards (also in 1979).  In 1983, when he played tight end, he caught 20 passes for 277 yards and three touchdowns. Deichl graduated from Fort Atkinson (WI) High School in 1979 after earning a total of seven letters in baseball, football and basketball.  A resident of Gurnee, Illinois, Deichl is the chief executive officer of Reedy Industries of Chicago, Illinois.
