Linde played the center position for, and was captain of,  the Warhawks’ basketball team from 1983-85. He was named to the all-conference and NCAA III all-Midwest Region teams all three years. In '85 he was named National Association of Basketball Coaches Division III Second Team All-American, and added Madison Area Sportsman of the Year honors.  Linde had two Division III Final Four appearances and helped the team to three NCAA III tournament berths, including the NCAA III championship in 1984.  As a sophomore Linde led UW-W to a 25-6 record;  and to a 27-4 mark and the NCAA III championship his junior year.  In the Warhawk record books, Linde ranks fifth in career scoring, and holds the single season scoring record. He is eleventh in single season rebounding, and seventh on the career list.  After graduating from UW-W in 1985, Linde went on to play professional basketball in Australia. He then returned to the U.S. and became an assistant coach of the men’s basketball team at Whitewater for a half-season in 1987. He is the self-employed owner of Linde Appraisal.   He is a native and current resident of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
