Don Paulsen graduated from William Horlick High School in Racine, Wisconsin in 1966.  At Horlick, Don earned three letters in basketball, two in golf and one in track.  As a junior, Don helped lead Horlick in basketball to a Big Eight Conference co-championship and as a senior he was Basketball Player of the Year in Racine, was the Big Eight Conference basketball MVP and was named to the 2nd team All-State Basketball Team.  Don enrolled at UW-Whitewater in January 1967 after transferring from Tulane University.  He earned three letters in basketball.  Don was the team MVP and the rebound and scoring leader for three seasons.  He was three times elected to the All-Conference team and as a senior, led the WSUC in scoring and was named to the All-NAIA District 14 team.  Individual records which he set while at Whitewater include Most Points - Game (41), Most Points - Season (471), Highest Game Average - Season (22.5), Highest Game Average - Career (19.6), Most Field Goals - Game (19), Most Field Goals - Season (198) and he tied the record for Most Rebounds - Game (26).  He finished his career at Whitewater with 1,248 points.  While on campus don was a Resident Assistant in the Residence Halls for two years and was elected to "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges" and "Outstanding College Athletes of America".  Don graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and has since worked for three large packaging companies.  He is currently a Regional Sales Manager for James River Corporation - Flexibile Packaging Group in the Chicago area and is active as a coach in boys soccer and as an avid golfer.  Don and his wife, Margie, have one son, Steven, and they reside in St. Charles, Illinois.
