Athletics Hall of Fame
Jim graduated from Evansville High School in 1962 where he won 10 letters in football, basketball, baseball and track. As a senior he was selected as all-conference in football and basketball. He was the conference champion in the 100 yard dash and 220 yard dash and the state champion in the 100 yard dash. A graduate of UW-Whitewater in 1966, he lettered four years in football and three years in track. He was undefeated for the three years he competed in track and was State University Conference champion in the 100 yard dash, the 220 yard dash, the 880 yard relay and the mile relay. As a wide receiver in football he was on the all-conference and District 14 NAIA teams and was honorable mention NAIA All-American. He was the conference scoring champion his senior year and is co-holder of the UW-Whitewater scoring record. Jim signed as a free-agent with the Minnesota Vikings in 1996. In 1968-1970 he played semi-pro football with the Delavan Red Devils and Rockford Rams. Jim coached football and track at Evansville High School from 1966-1974, and served as athletic director until 1977 at which time he entered the insurance business as an agent for New York Life. He is currently an Assistant Manager of the New York Life Capital General Office located in Madison. Jim is past President of the Evansvilly Jaycees and served as a member of the council for St. John's Lutheran Church. Jim is married and the father of two children, Leah, 17, and Tim, 12.
