Ralph graduated from Whitewater College High School in 1948 where he earned letters in baseball, football, basketball, and softball.  In 1948 he was named to the all-conference basektball team.  He received the outstanding athlete award in his graduating class.  After graduating from high school, Ralph entered the U.S. Air Force where he played baseball, was an all-star pitcher and also pitched a no-hit game.  While attending UW-Whitewater, he lettered one year in football, four years in basketball, and four years in baseball.  As a senior, he led the baseball team in batting with an average of over 600.  During the years Ralph was in college, he played in various all-star games and state tournament games, and pitched a no-hit game at Baraboo, Wisconsin.  Since graduating from UW-Whitewater in 1957, Ralph has taught and coached in Warren, Illinois and in Livingston, Wisconsin and at St. John's Military Academy.  Since 1961, he has taught in West Bend, Wisconsin where he has coached football, basketball, golf and softball.  His 1980 women's softball team won the conference championship.  Ralph has also been involved in coachign Little League for four years and has been the clinic director for two years.  He is an active member of the Wisconsin High School Baseball Coaches Association and the American Association of College Baseball Coaches.  Ralph and his wife Sally have three children Jay, Mark an DeAnn and they reside in West Bend, Wisconsin.
