A graduate of Milwaukee Custer High School, Carl participated in football and basketball and was chosen to the All-City Football team as a senior. In college Carl participated in football, basketball and boxing and placed on the All-Conference Football Team as a tackle in his junior year. He then spent three years in the military and returned to Whitewater and was graduated in 1945. Carl was a recipient of the American Legion School Award for scholarship, leadership and athletic ability. At present he is employed in the Adjudication Division, U.S. Veteran’s Administration as a Rating Specialist. He is an active church member, has worked with the Lutheran Pioneers and the Boy Scouts of America, and has coached American Legion baseball. Elected to the Hall of Fame, 1976.
