Athletics Hall of Fame
Charles E. Morphey is being awarded the Distinguished Service Award of the Whitewater Athletic Hall of Fame. This award is granted to persons who have significantly contributed to the success of the athletic programs of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Dr. Morphew is the fifth recipient of this award. During his distinguished career of thirty-four years as a Teacher/Scholar/Administrator at UW-Whitewater, Dr. Morphew was an avid Warhawk backer. He has continued this practice since his retirement in 1984. Despite his interest in athletic success, he has always insisted in the student-athlete concept which characterizes NCAA Division III and the Wisconsin State University Conference. He has spent much time and effort to follow-up on student athletes in order to prod them to do well in their studies and to graduate with their degree. He also served as UW-Whitewater's Faculty Athletics Representative to the WSUC.
