Justin Beaver competed for the UW-Whitewater football team as a running back from 2004-07. The Palmyra native was a three-time first team All-American, two-time Gagliardi Trophy finalist and three-year first team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection, helping the Warhawks earn three conference titles, two national runner-up finishes and the 2007 national championship, the first in program history. As a senior in 2007, he was named WIAC Player of the Year, WIAC Football Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete, D3football.com Offensive Player of the Year and winner of the prestigious Gagliardi Trophy, the Division III equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, while totaling school records in rushing attempts (444) and yards (2,455). Beaver later earned spots on the WIAC All-Time Team, which was created as part of the league's Centennial celebration in 2012, and D3football's 2000s All-Decade first team. One of the most decorated student-athletes in program history, Beaver currently ranks second all time in rushing attempts (1,118) and yards (6,584), third in rushing touchdowns (44) and fifth in average yards per carry (5.89). He graduated with a bachelor's in physical education (K-12) in 2008.
