This Palmyra native, following Whitewater graduation in 1929, went on to become an outstanding and dedicated Wisconsin educator. At Whitewater he earned three letters in football, two in track and four in basketball. Captained the 1929 cage team.  Upon graduation he taught at Crandon High and also coached all major sports 1929-36 (his baseball and track teams won six consecutive championships 1930-39). He was superintendent of Crandon schools 1936-43 and New Richmond schools 1943-48. Recipient of Master of Arts degree from Northwestern University in 1944, Jolliffe has been associated with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction since 1948. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1967.
