Pamela Zielke-Kruse earned a total of thirteen letters in four sports before graduating from UW-Whitewater in 1971.  She lettered four times in volleyball and three times each in basketball, softball and tennis.  Zielke-Kruse has taught at Milwaukee Washington High School since 1973.  During this time she has coached girls basketball, tennis, softball and cross-country.  Her teams have won City Conference basketball championships nine times and she added cross-country titles in just four years as head coach.  Zielke-Kruse directed Washington to Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Class A state basketball championships in 1979 and 1990.  She has been honored as the City Conference girls basketball Coach of the Year seven times and she was named Wisconsin Coach of the Year for girls basketball by United Press International in 1979.
