Westin Muir (St. Charles, Ill./North) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team is featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
Muir was named second team All-Midwest Region by the American Baseball Coaches Association and D3baseball.com and first team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 2019, when he helped the Warhawks sweep the WIAC regular season and tournament championships and reach the NCAA Tournament.
Muir tallied an 8-0 record and ranked among the top five in the conference in earned run average (2.07), strikeouts (78), shutouts (1), opponents' batting average (.210) and innings pitched (63 1/3). He was named to the NCAA Whitewater Regional All-Tournament Team after an eight-inning, nine-strikeout gem in UW-W's 9-2 win over North Central (Ill.).
As a freshman in 2018, Muir appeared in 11 games in relief, tallying 19 strikeouts and holding opponents to a .234 batting average in 17 innings of work. He helped UW-Whitewater claim the WIAC championship and reach the NCAA Tournament.
Muir is majoring in environmental science and is a recipient of the Chancellor's Scholarship.
