Five Warhawks were selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District List from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team in a release on Tuesday afternoon.
In order to qualify, student athletes must be at least a sophomore both athletically and academically with over a 3.50 GPA. In addition to the success in the classroom, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, the athletic criteria is 35-plus innings pitched or appear in 17 or more games. Â Â
Three of the five Warhawks selected finished their bachelor's degrees this past fall.
Leyten Bowers (Mineral Point, Wis./Mineral Point) completed his Human Performance degree with a 3.71 grade point average.
Aaron Holland (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North), a finance major, with a 3.77 grade point average. As well as
Andy Thies (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles), the WIAC Max Sparger Scholar Athlete, with a 3.64 in accounting.Â
Jackson Koenig (Blaine, Minn./Blaine) and
Evan Olson (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) rounded out the Warhawks Academic All-District selections. Koenig, a junior in Finance with a 3.86 grade point average, and Olson, an academic senior in accounting with a 3.85 grade point average.Â
