Steven Wright (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team is featured in the first edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
 
Wright was a first team All-American Collegiate Athletic Association selection in 2019, helping the Warhawks win their first-ever ACAA championship and reach the first round of the NCAA Tournament, where they were edged 1-0 at eventual national semifinalist Calvin (Mich.).
 
Wright tallied three goals and three assists for nine points in 2019, when he appeared in 21 matches, including 11 as a starter. The midfielder scored in the 54th minute in the ACAA Championship contest against California-Santa Cruz, which finished tied after two overtimes. Wright made his attempt during the shootout to help UW-Whitewater capture the league crown.
 
Wright also posted goals in Warhawk wins at Marian and against Olivet (Mich.) earlier in the season.
 
For his career, Wright appeared in 55 matches, including 22 as a starter. He owns four goals and six assists for 14 career points, playing more than 2,500 minutes.
 
A two-year member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll, Wright is majoring in marketing.
