Getting To Know The Warhawks – Johanna Taylor, Women’s Basketball

Johanna Taylor (Wauwatosa, Wis./East) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team is featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
 
Taylor's performance in the frontcourt helped the Warhawk women's basketball team win the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championship and reach the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2019-20. She was named first team All-WIAC and earned a spot on the WIAC All-Defensive Team.
 
Taylor appeared in 27 games, all as a starter, and averaged 8.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. She led the WIAC in field goal percentage (54.7) and blocked shots (62 / 2.30 per game), and finished among the top five in the league in rebounding and offensive rebounds (2.33 per game). Taylor posted four double-doubles in 2019-20, including a 12-point, 10-rebound performance against Redlands (Calif.) in the NCAA Tournament.
 
As a sophomore in 2018-19, Taylor ranked second in the conference with 39 blocks (1.50 per game) and averaged 2.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per contest. Her performance helped UW-Whitewater reach the NCAA Tournament.
 
In 2017-18, Taylor joined the team for the second semester, helping the Warhawks sweep the WIAC regular season and tournament championships and reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
A two-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, Taylor is majoring in elementary education.
