Mary Conneely (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater bowling team is featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
In 2019-20, Conneely was named Central Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Player of the Year and first team all-conference after helping the Warhawks claim the CIBC championship. She led all of NCAA Division III in Baker double percentage (48.0), strike percentage (44.2) and Baker frame average (19.72). Conneely ranked No. 1 in the CIBC in scoring average (193.3), Baker average (197.2), first-ball scoring average (8.9) and 10th-frame scoring average (200.1).
As a sophomore in 2018-19, Conneely averaged 18.61 pins per frame and tallied a 78.8 percent fill percentage. In one of her best performances of the season, she posted an 86.0 fill percentage, 49 percent strike percentage and nine-spare percentage of 91 percent at the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectional Qualifier.
In 2017-18, Conneely was a two-time UW-Whitewater Subway Athlete of the Week who competed several times in the varsity lineup.
A two-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and two-time National Tenpin Coaches Association All-Academic selection, Conneely is majoring in human resource management with a minor in corporate communication. She is a two-year captain.
