Paige Nierman (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Stevenson) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team is featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
Nierman helped the Warhawks win the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in 2019, the program's 13th consecutive conference title and 20th overall. She finished the fall season with a 14-9 singles record, tied for the most wins on the team, and a 5-7 doubles mark. Nierman placed third in the conference at No. 1 singles and fourth at No. 1 doubles with playing partner

Nierman finished the season ranked 15th in the Central Region in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. She was a WIAC Kwik Trip Doubles Player of the Week on Sept. 9-15 and reached the semifinals in singles at the 2019 ITA Midwest Regional later that month.
As a sophomore in 2018-19, Nierman claimed WIAC championships at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles. She finished the year with a combined 26 victories in singles and doubles, and helped UW-Whitewater reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Nierman started her career with an 18-6 singles record and 22-9 doubles mark as a freshman in 2017-18. She also earned the conference title at No. 4 singles and was the runner-up at No. 2 doubles. Nierman's performance that year helped the Warhawks advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
A two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and three-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, Nierman is majoring in communication sciences and disorders. She hopes to be a speech language pathologist following graduation.
