The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis took a close 4-3 win over UW-Stevens Point at home on Tuesday evening. With the win, the Warhawks improve to 4-1 in conference play. 

The Warhawks grabbed the doubles point with wins from Abigail Weaver (Wakarusa, Ind./Mishawaka Marian) & Ava Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) at No. 1 doubles followed by a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles by Chloe Knutson (Deforest, Wis./Deforest) & Ashley Adkisson (Lincolnshire, Ill./Stevenson). 

The Warhawks extended their lead to 3-0, putting them on march point with wins from Ava Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) at No. 4 singles (6-0, 6-4) & Chloe Knutson (Deforest, Wis./Deforest) at No. 5 singles (6-2, 6-3). 

The Pointers grabbed the next two flights to bring the match within one, but Kaitlyn Remke (Johnsburg, Ill./Marian Central) secured the match with a win at No. 2 singles. Remke fell in the first set 3-6, but bounced back with a 6-1 second set before a 6-4 win to clinch the match for the Warhawks. 

The Warhawks return to action this upcoming weekend in their Fall Invite. The match will take place Friday & Saturday, October 9-10 on the Warhawk Tennis Courts.
